We have received many, many warm and supporting emails since we announced the closing of VJ Books.
I recently read one from Colin in the UK. He mentioned than one of his goals in retirement has been to read through the many books in his library. I especially appreciate his advice as I look at "life after VJ Books."
When I built our house in Oregon abundant bookshelves were in the plans. Our library boasted the bulk of my collection, but books were everywhere.
Moving to the east coast caused me to revisit my books. After shelving copies of our Norwood Press editions, I became painfully aware that most of my books will remain in boxes. Not a good plan.
It is a perplexing problem. I understand keeping copies of books I have read and enjoyed, and the complete biographies by my favorite authors. However, how do I make room for new and upcoming authors?
I will spend the rest of my life trying to choose between old favorites and new possibilities, but I can't forget to read them. Good advice!
