Apple's focused on 'AI' Apple Intelligence, we're digging in on all things Thunderbolt 5. In that department, Apple did not skimp. A couple early observations... Base M4 Models are Thunderbolt 40Gbs/USB 4 equipped. To be certain, by means is Thunderbolt 40Gb/s obsolete vs. now part of the amazing world of Thunderbolt optionality. Having said that, note that the latest iMac 24" have no Thunderbolt 5 equipped versions. Base model MacBook 14" M4 and M4 Mac mini are also Thunderbolt 40Gb/s. Step up to an M4 Pro Mac mini or any M4 Pro/Max MacBook Pro and now you get three x Thunderbolt 5 ports. Not only do you get three ports, you have there full 80/120Gb/s channels - these ports are independent for full capability. Amazing backwards compatibility and future readiness.
