When we started August, our goal was to bring fresh creativity to tea. We did this with unheard of flavor combinations and modern design. And after almost 10 years, we have found that many people share our passion for novelty, elegance, and creativity.
BUT!
One request has come to us over and over again. People asked us quietly at first, and then more and more loudly:
“Can you please just give me some plain tea?”
At first we said, oh no, we couldn’t do that. We’re August. We make uncommon tea. This request did get us thinking… What would be the August version of ‘plain tea’?
With all the intensely flavorful tea August makes, sometimes our palates need a rest. And we make no secret of the fact that Gina and I have been drinking a personal supply of ‘plain teas’ for years in addition to our blends.
