Hi there,
We're getting ready for all of the delicious gatherings to come to celebrate all of the fall and winter holidays.
Here are my recommendations for teas to pair with your holiday desserts.
- Pumpkin pie is heavenly with a lightly smoked toffee Golden Arrow or vanilla-infused Breakfast
- Pecan pie is magnificent with Low Country or Black Gold
- Apple pie's rich flavors are complemented by the bracing, sweetly spiced Metropolitan or malty Cult of Demeter
- Banana bread or custard with the sweet floral Black Metallic or Nightfall rest and digest tea
- Shortbread cookies are best friends with Passage or Silent Night
- Chocolate cake is gorgeous with the soft almond notes of The Library or Silent Night
- Lemon cake or lemon tart sings with the aromatic amaretto flavors of Biarritz
With such abundant holiday meals, some guests will certainly appreciate tea for dessert. These will satisfy a sweet craving, and help digest a decadent meal.
My picks are dessert-inspired Avalon (apple tart), Breathless (creamy brandied plum), Cabaret (black forest cake).
And for caffeine-free options, I suggest these two cookie-like teas Silent Night or Cult of Demeter (an excellent digestion tea) with a touch of honey, and of course, our crowd-pleasing Psychocandy.
If you're planning to serve something that isn't mentioned here, reply to ask me for a recommendation from me. I'm always happy to advise on tea pairings.
Warm regards,
Gina
