New Year’s Eve: Stay in or go out? |
Hotels on your hit list for 2025? |
Passalacqua on Lake Como, SHA Wellness either in Spain or Mexico, Amanoi in Vietnam. Coral Sands on Harbour Island in the Bahamas got a whole new reno; that sounds fun to me. And there’s that new hotel that opened right across from the Carlyle that's supposed to be really nice, The Surrey. |

Advice for parents becoming empty nesters this year? |
Go with the tumultuousness. Lean into the silver linings. Plan a fun trip you would never have done because you would’ve felt too guilty if your kids were home. |
Last thing that made you laugh really hard? |
My nephew tells this really funny joke in a French accent, which he does masterfully. That was the other day. I laughed really hard. |
Who influences you on the internet? |
Winter coat that you’ve owned the longest? |
I mean, I have this old Moncler that’s really out of style—but it’s just so warm and comfortable that I keep it and I wear it. But I’m much more proud to break out my old G. Label navy peacoat every season. We have a similar one that just came out recently, because I love the original so much. |
What’s the G. Label piece that you have worn the most often since it came out? |
The Signature Cardigan, which we originally called the Erica cardigan, named after our lovely old CFO. I still wear the original ones, and I wear the new colors, too. |
What was on your Spotify wrapped? |
My data was not accurate. I listened to João Gilberto, like at dinner parties, but it has him as my number one artist, and that’s impossible because I had it on a couple times but not enough to warrant that spot.
Best month to visit Paris? |
I think May is always the best month to visit almost any city in the northern hemisphere. Late May. |
New jewelry designers you’re excited about? |
I love this brand called The Gold Album that makes these beautiful personalized enamel and gold pieces. It’s really beautiful and chic, but there’s also a ton of heart in it. |
Which vitamin C serum do you use? |
I use the goop Beauty one, in the mornings. It gives the best serums on the market a total run for their money: It’s got a high concentration of vitamin C, 20%, and our unique double-bottle formula keeps it fresh for much longer than the vitamin C serums that come premixed. It works really well—it brings a vibrancy to the skin. |
Your winter body-care ritual? |
I’m not only a big face exfoliator; I’m a body exfoliator, too—and I feel like I get drier and drier every year with age. I like to dry brush before the shower or before the sauna, and then I use our body exfoliator in the shower. After the shower, I use the body butter quite heavily, especially in the wintertime—and it just makes the skin feel so good. (The team put together a kit with the body exfoliator and the body butter, because the combination of the two is so effective.) |
Never. I feel like it requires way too much skill…I feel like the women who are good at doing their hair and makeup do self-tanner. You know what I mean? I’m not good at that kind of stuff. |
What did you learn from working with Josh Safdie as a director? |
I love working with directors like him who have this hyperspecificity about what they’re looking for. I find it really relaxing, in a way, as an actor—because you feel like, Oh, I’m in a good painting. And so you feel safe. I admired his tenacity, and I learned about risk-taking because it had been a while since I had done a part in a film that I wasn’t reprising. |
What did you eat on set when you were shooting? |
When I’m on set, I have to have light food, and I like to sort of graze all day long. So I always have a shake in the morning or Greek yogurt with protein powder mixed in (I’m perimenopausal, so I need to protein-load). For lunch, I liked to have lots of dry fruit and nuts and rice cakes with peanut butter. And then Kevin and I split an egg sandwich when we were in Brooklyn all the time at this amazing place called Taku Sando. |
Favorite Oscar-contender performances this year? |
I haven’t seen enough yet to fully weigh in, but I loved Demi Moore in The Substance. She was incredible. And I loved The Apprentice. If you're an actor and you watch it, you know Sebastian Stan’s performance is really, really impressive. |
Workout you’re doing most often right now? |
I still do Tracy Anderson. And I do Lagree Pilates. |
Lessons you learned in 2024? |
My friend got me a numerology reading, and I learned I’m in a nine year, which is year of completions and endings. I had a few very strong lessons around completing certain things: One of our dogs died, my kids went to school, and I became an empty nester. I had a bunch of goodbyes this year; I had some revelations that led to the ends of things. The numerologist contextualized all of this for me, but this year was about learning to understand that it was a year of endings. And that sometimes those endings have been really painful and have come with big change and recalibrations. I’ve learned to loosen my grip on things and deeply learn to let go. And also to understand that everything is always happening for your highest good, even if it’s super uncomfortable. |
