Deeper dive: Ernesto Perez-Carrillo has forgotten more about cigars than most ever know. The word 'legend' gets thrown around loosely in the cigar biz but EP Carrillo is probably about as close as it gets. He built and sold his famed La Gloria Cubana brand 20 years ago. LGC at the time was on the forefront of boutique cigars and the hottest thing going. Then 10 years or so back, he swung to a new vine and launched E.P. Carrillo. And he's done it all over again, steadily building another portfolio of great blends, crafting winner after winner. 96 ratings, #1 Cigar of the Year, and on and on. And he's a solid dude to boot.

The name of his Dominican factory is Tabacalera La Alianza, and he's used the La Alianza name on various projects before so it can be confusing. But these here are nothing but straight up overruns. All first quality construction-wise, they're packed in mazos with La Alianza bands and sorted by general wrapper type.... Natural, Maduro, Connecticut. They're also sorted by general size range.... Robustos, Coronas, etc but with some slight variations in dimensions within those ranges. Our deal with Ernesto is that we can't specify exactly what's what, but these are yours at a very solid everyday value.
