I've rambled on about Hoofty before but let me tell you, this is a gorgeous cigar and a top 10 all day premium smoke. It's not going to make you soil the ole pantaloons with strength nor put you to sleep with mildness. Instead it's the ideal medium-bodied, center of the fairway, take home to momma type.... but with character, spice and complexity in spades. Like discovering a kick-ass band in a dive in Nashville, Austin, or parts unknown, firing up a Hoofty for the first time will make you a believer. It's an off-centered brand that may just be your new go-to. The blend is quintessential Nicaraguan small-batch - the wrapper is a dark, mahogany brown Habano leaf with ample tooth, nice oily sheen, and slight veins. Heavy in the hand, it's dense and well constructed. The pre-light cold draw brings a pleasant floral component. If you retrohale, you get the full complement of flavor, subtlety, and complexity. Light it up and you have solid combustion with a steady burn and perfect draw bringing ample smoke with slight resistance. Subtle spice and cream dominate from the start, with additional pepper and some slight oomph. Flavor comes in spades with the aforementioned spice and cream plus hints of dark chocolate and burnt toast.
