Villa Poggio Salvi was founded in 1979 by Pierluigi Tagliabue, who was in a partnership with Biondi-Santi at the time. Today, the estate is run by his grandson—Luca Belingardi— with 21 hectares of vines planted with clones of Sangiovese Grosso. With the ideal altitude, soils, and the gentle breeze off the Tyrrhenian Sea, it is perfectly situated to foster a pure expression of the unique terroir of Montalcino.
A traditional Brunello in style, the 2019 vintage is brimming with notes of dark cherry and ripe berries and a hint of sage.
