Email from VJ Books Meet Mark Sullivan. Changing Seasons Mt. Hood 10/13/24 Mt. Hood 10/18/24 We are in the shadow of Mt. Hood, living in this area we call the Columbia River Gorge. Mount Hood is the icon here and dominates our geography and life. I name drop several Oregon "attributes", including weather, ocean views, microbrews, soring mountains, Oregon Duck football, and Portland, the City of Roses. Mt. Hood announces the change of seasons. In a matter of days it's barren peaks are restored with freshly fallen snow. The change signals the final days here at VJ Books. I will miss the view of this majestic mountain as much as the I will miss bringing our customers the largest selection of signed books they will ever see. Take a few minutes to browse our shelves. Some treasures remain at our lowest prices. I am showcasing one of my favorite authors, Mark Sullivan. If you haven't read Mark's stuff you are missing out! Mark Sullivan Mark Sullivan Now a NY times bestselling author there was a time he doubted his childhood dream of becoming a writer. So at the age of 30 he began writing fiction in his spare time and soon had short stories published in various literary journals. In the winter of 1990, he took a leave from his investigative duties at the newspaper and moved to Utah and Wyoming to live among extreme skiers. That experience yielded his first novel, The Fall Line, which was named a New York Times Notable Book of the year, a rare honor for a debut author. Everything is now on sale!
