I've been in the cigar biz 29 years and this is up there with the mother of all blunders. One of La Palina's best sellers is called the color series - Black Label, Red Label, White, Bronze, Silver, etc. Apparently tens of thousands of sticks in both the Black and Red Label series had a packaging snafu: the Red Label is normally packaged with, you guessed it, a red & white primary band with a red secondary band while the Black Label with a black & white primary band and a black secondary band. Instead, all were bungled and the primary bands were reversed (although secondary bands were correct). If you squint hard and tilt your head at an angle, you can kinda see how it happened since the front of the primaries are mostly white. But wow. They caught the error midstream but not before about 100,000 were already packed up and cello'd. I got the call, we made a sick deal, and then cranked up our patented lemons-into-lemonade machine. Out the other end came tremendous savings north of 81% off normal prices. I've been dealing them hard and only have a few bundles left. They're all yours while they last for just $1.99 shipped free. Medium to full in strength with some earthy, peaty notes and subtle underlying spice. It's a headscratcher but if you're looking to score a sweet value, this one answers the bell.
