A few days ago, I asked you about your dog’s favorite toy, and your responses did NOT disappoint.

We heard about favorite stuffed animals… favorite paper plates… and so many favorite balls.

My team and I spent the past few days reading through your emails, and we couldn’t stop smiling (or forwarding our favorites to each other).

So it only made sense to share a few with you!

Starting with Bentley, whose mom Melissa shared “Lucy Lion” isn’t just a toy — she’s Bentley’s favorite comfort buddy:

“Bentley is 12 yrs old and Lucy has been his stand in nursing mama. He comforts himself daily by snuggling with her, and he sucks on her paw…

He has a whole toy box full of toys but at 12 he is starting to slow down because of arthritis and Lucy has always been his girl.”

There’s something so sweet about a toy which has been with a dog through every stage of life.

It’s no wonder many of you shared that you keep secret backups of your dog’s favorite toy — just in case!

And what’s better than one favorite toy? A whole flock of them!

“Yogi has a favorite toy, actually it is four toys, but they are all yellow duckies. I just have to say, “go get your ducky”, and away he goes to get one.

He throws them, squeaks them, and chews on their beaks. We play fetch with them and bury them in blankets. He truly loves them. He is getting two more for Christmas!! Lol”

With four duckies and counting, Yogi clearly knows how to get what he wants!

Then there’s Poppy, who takes a more, shall we say, enthusiastic approach to de-stuffing her favorite toy:

“Poppy LOVES her “Fawkes the Phoenix”...She is obsessed!

I call it road kill since she has destuffed it 🤣

But she absolutely loves whipping him back and forth and chasing him when I throw him. She’s a goofball. Cheers to dog toy roadkill!”

It’s so fun to see the quirky, sweet, and downright hilarious ways our dogs bring their personalities to life — even with something as simple as a toy.
